Dancing, Spiderman Proposes, and My Fave Bands--First Fridays are the Best Fridays

After all the busyness we face everyday around here, sometimes what we need most is an evening of incredible fun!  F-U-N.

If you were Downtown Provo on this last Friday night, then you were surely one of the lucky many:

I started my evening at the Downtown Provo Dance Walk-- accompanied by approx 100 other dance walkers, most of whom I wasn't previously acquainted with--which was surprising considering I had hoped for maybe twenty people to show up!  The Dance Walk turned out to be one of the best times I have had in months, and I am pretty confident I wasn't the only one having the time of my life.  And there was a big surprise at the end...

...and of COURSE we happened upon a wedding at Southworth Hall on  Center Street-- the whole wedding party came out and danced with us a spell! Very romantic.

Needless to say, we will be doing this again in July, and I can hardly wait!  Thanks to all my old friends (and new ones) who came out, and to Downtown Provo Inc for sponsoring and co-hosting this with me.   Be sure to go become a fan of their page!

The dance tracks were sponsored and mixed by Scott from The New Electric Sound-- and the songs were based on everyone's suggestions beforehand.   BUT guess. what.  ...Here is a FREE DOWNLOAD of the June Dance Walk Mix for you!  I only ask you to share it with friends and come to the next Dance Walk in July (First Friday, Historical Courthouse, 6PM)-- the next playlist will be sponsored and selected by the one and only RYAN INNES.

Back to Friday night...

The dance walk ended abruptly due to an overheated PA (sorry guys!), but just in time for one of the most orchestrated proposals of all time!  It's not every day Spiderman leaps out of nowhere to rescue his girlfriend from a few "harassing" guys, fights them all off not once, but TWICE! And then, during cheers from the crowd, gets on one knee and pops the question.

Congratulations to James & Shailee-- I am as excited for their marriage as I was for the proposal!

Once the proposal happened (we had been planning it for weeks, but rehearsed only the day before) I headed to the Rooftop Concert Series where I spent much of the evening live-tweeting the event from @rooftopconcerts-- Timmy The Teeth, Desert Noises and The Moth & The Flame entertained us with literally the best quality music coming from Utah right now.

(running into these two was a happy accident!)

(each First Friday Sora Asian Cuisine Downtown Provo will be open until midnight--another reason to love this place!)
